Dalam film The Lord Of The Ring yang pertama ini menceritakan  tentang Sauron (Raja kegelapan) yang mencari  Cincin sakti yang ternyata ditemukan oleh seorang hobbit muda bernama Frodo Baggins dari shire.  Bumi Tengah (Middle Earth) terancam dalam ketidakseimbangan jika cincin itu tidak dihancurkan, atas dasar itulah Frodo dan kedelapan rekannya yang tergabung dalam Sembilan Pembawa Cincin membawa cincin itu ke Gunung Doom di Mordor untuk dihancurkan, karena hanya ditempat itulah cincin dapat dihancurkan.
